Environmental Commemoration

Glen Echo Heights (GEH) has a commemorative stone and plaque in the Potomac Palisades Conservation Park near 5019 Wissioming Rd., Bethesda, MD 20816.  On September 16th, 2000, former County Councilwoman Betty Ann Krahnke, who was highly instrumental in establishing the Park as part of the Potomac Valley Preservation Plan, was honored at a dedication ceremony there.  Glen Echo Heights Conservationist Norma Spiegel (deceased) was also especially active in establishing the Park as well as guarding GEH environmental health for decades.  Some people would like to add a plaque to the stone which honors Ms. Spiegel as well.
